Clan Rank Promotion Questions and Answers

NEW REQUIREMENT: Please read the following two posts for information
After reading the two and continue proceeding to your application will consider yourself accepted the rules listed on the following two posts.

I am tired of people asking me where to find the FAQs, I have cut off the FAQs which parts with Promotions and paste them into here.
NOW OPEN YOUR EYES AND READ CAREFULLY!

Q: I don't want to be peon, what do I need to do to become a grunt?

A: Minimum requirements are:

Must Have the following:
Clan member for 1 month or longer
A decent level of skill in Warcraft III Games (No Matter what game)
Constructive contributions to the clan community (this is not covered by creating maps [A.k.a Mapping])
Optional:
50 posts or more [Only by Helping, FAQs, Tutorials]

A good way is to help out others in the 'FAQs' section, writing tutorials are a good idea as well.

If you feel ready/good enough for grunt status, create a new post in Grunt promotion Challenge thread.
List your most important efforts there, for example games you played and how pro you are.
No need to list every detail, we check the forum regulary enough to notice people who contribute something.

As soon as the Leader or at least 2 Shamans agree that you are ready, you will be given a specific task which has to be finished within one week.
This task will be different for every member but you can choose a category
Don't be sad if you fail, you have infinite tries. But you have to wait at least 3 weeks until you may try again!

Q: Do I gain any priviledges when becoming Grunt?

A: Yes, Grunt rank is required for things such as:
-Having your own board in this forum (Not Guaranteed to have one.)
-accesss to the clan bot (Must have requested at Host Bots Forum)
-Become judge in certain contests
-Host own contests

Q: And how do I become Shaman?

A: That's decided by the Clan Leader. There's not really much you can do about it.
Basically, same as for grunt but it's just somewhat harder... It also depends if we actually need more Shamans or not.

"I think person X would make a good Grunt / Shaman / Leader!"

First, ask that person if (s)he is actually interested in that post.
If not, then leave it as it's not for you to decide.
If yes, that person should be capable of applicating by him/herself as grunt.
In case of Shaman post, you can recommend a person to the Leader. This can at most be a reminder though, it won't increase chances of success.
Recommendations from Shaman for you to the leader is more effective than other clan member's recommendation, as the shamans are the veterans in this clan.
In case of a possible new Leader, don't be afraid to state the suggestion. In case you found someone worthy enough, everyone in the clan will be allowed to cast their vote in the forum. Peon-votes are counted normally, Grunt-votes count twice, Shaman-votes count 4-times.

How can I avoid being demoted?

Stay active: Shamans/Grunts caught being inactive for 50 days will be demoted. People announcing their inactivity (holidays etc.) have a limit of 100 days before demotion. Demoted members can still applicate for the post they have lost.

Our goal is to provide free host bot services for members to enjoy their gaming experience with Gamer's Edge. In addition, we create Clan EDGE
as a bridge to connect players with other players.

To help achieve this goal, we have established the following list of guidelines for using our forum and hosting service.

Forum/Clan rules

- Do not use map hack or any 3rd party program to gain advantage in game.
Admins are strongly restricted from over using their powers. Doing
anything that deteriorate our Gamer's Edge host bot services will not be
tolerated.
- Don't spam (Double posting counts as spam, so please use the "edit" feature on your threads"
- All posts on this forum must be in English (other languages can be used in private messages).
- Be polite. Don't intentionally insult or disrupt other players.
- Do not post images or links to sites or images containing things rated for 18+ years of age
- Bumping threads with a post is not allowed as it can be seen as
cheating to meet criterias to promotion challenges. You can use the
private messaging system to notify moderators of important dead topics.
- Do not make posts encouraging any illegal actions.
- Please do not dig old posts, especially those in the recycle bin.

You may find this rules quite similar to some other clans, as we all are attempting to achieve the same goal.

This topic contains all rules for playing in our games. Game rules are established due to a huge number of players have been violating them
without their prior knowledge of these rules, so please pay close
attention to this.

General rules

- Do not leave before the game has ended, this could be known as "Rage quit" or "Leaver", this
will result an immediate 3 days temporary ban if reported or on sight.
- The use of any 3rd party program or loopholes in game (i.e from
deprotecting a map and insert cheat packs) will result a immediate
permanent ban if reported or on sight.
- Do not spam during games as it distracts other players or operation of bots.
- Do not flame. Don't rage or insult other players excessively, using
inappropriate languages are not encouraged and a 3 days temporary ban
will be cast if seen or reported when you use such languages in game.
- Ghosting is not allowed: do not tell other players the position of
units or buildings they should not be able to see. This is why games
have Fog of War for a reason (This is the same applying on the opponent
team. You are not allowed to tell your opponents where your friends are)
- Griefing: don't go AFK for excessive amounts of time, especially
without telling other players beforehand. This is strictly serious on
games such as Hero Wars, Horde vs Alliance or DotA. Doing so will grant
your team an unfair disadvantage and result in losing the game or so. If
reported or sighted, this might result up to 7 days banning.
- Don't delay a game from starting by joining/leaving multiple times or
otherwise. If any players report or if sighted, this can result to a up
to 7 days banning.
- Abusing votekick: using !votekick to spam or when the victim has not done anything wrong; also refusing to votekick
when a player has clearly violated a rule. Please use a maximum of 3
votekicks towards one player at a time per game.
- Impersonating any Gamer's Edge staff member will result a permanent IP Banning
- Ruining the game: Feeding, troop blocking etc are not tolerated and will result a ban.
- Be honest to other players
