| Quote (Weiss) Meh, idc u should get more FAQs done and send it to meeep I can’t make FAQs if no one is asking questions, so stop demanding so much from me Weiss <-- You even made this innocent Emote cry Well, here is the first and last group of real FAQs though it will be edited if there is feedback. After using a word once, I'll replace them in the later parts with abbreviations. Full list of acronyms are at the end Remember, when converting percents to decimals, you move the decimal point 2 digits left (100% = 1.00)
Warning: I designed this Guide with the focus on Bleach v One Piece (BvO).
Q1 - Why?
A1 - So that you will hopefully try it. Some of these ideas will not apply to other maps and I will not tell you which they are :D (If you ask whether they apply to other maps, I might respond) However, Questions with an (*) has concepts that is applicable to other games in general
------------------------------
Q2 - Why do some units attack faster than others?*
A2 - Units have different attack cooldown (CD) time
Details: When designing units in World Editor, there is a 'Stat' section to adjust attack CD. This represents the time before the unit can attack again (in terms of seconds). The lower it is, the faster your unit can attack: 1/attack CD = attacks per second (APS). Heroes attack faster with more agility or attack speed items until they hit max attack speed (AS).
Extra: From what I have tested before, 'Animation Damage Point' will replace 'attack CD' as CD for next attack if it is greater, but this isn't relevant to BvO or gameplay for what you see (hence the extra)
------------------------------
Q3 - What is max AS?*
A3 - 100% Initial + 400% (1 agi = 1% in BvO)
Details: Every hero starts with 100% AS and can increase it up to 500%. Any more than 500% merely servers as a buffer against situations where your attack speed is reduced. Since you begin with 100%, you only need to gain 400% more through levels, tomes, and items. When you get to 'very fast' AS, it means that you attack more than once per second.
Example: Base AS.........................................[100%] Brook starts with 35 agility.................................[35%] Brook gets Shihoin's Shuriken (6 agi)..................[6%] Brook gets Glove of haste..................................[15%] ........................................................................= 156% AS
------------------------------
Q4 - What does AS do exactly in terms of numbers?*
A4 - APS * AS = Total APS
Details: With 200% AS, you attack twice as fast as an identical unit with no speed modifiers (100% AS). Less than 100% AS will reduce your APS (1/5 of your original APS is the minimum APS, maybe). The formula: Base APS * AS = Current APS
Example: Brook Base APS.............................................[0.794] AS from previous example (156/100)...........................[1.56] .................................................................................= 1.238 Total APS
------------------------------
Q5 - Who is the fastest / slowest characters after transformations (Bankai, Gear, Flaming Shoes, Pointy Ice Stick, etc)?
A5 - Ichigo (Bankai) at 1.111 APS / Rukia at 0.658 APS
Details: Their max AS is 5.556 / 3.289 respectively. In gameplay though, Ichigo's max AS is slightly lower since his ‘Shunpo Strike’ causing him to blink around the target and waste time turning. Some people believe Rob Lucci is faster but that is only due to his attack animation (He swings twice or spins 360 to appear faster)
------------------------------
Q6 - How does 'Crits', 'Bashs', and 'Evasion' stack?*
A6 - 'Crits' and 'Bashes' stack in independently (If one misses, the other one can still proc) and a unit gets the highest single 'Evasion' it has
Details: Only 1 'Crit' or 'Bash' works at a time (though 'Crit' and 'Bash' can work simultaneously). The chance to proc is: ((1 - Crit 1%) * (1 - Crit 2%) * ...) - 1 'Crit 1%' is the first 'Crit' item you aquired and so forth -'Aquired' means picked up or when you first learn the skill) '...' represents a continuation if you have more than 2 'Crit' items Evasion does work similar to the above when the opponent has a debuff that makes them miss. Also item 'Evasion' does not stack with skill 'Evasion'
Example: Tosen's 'Spiritual Sense' Lv1..................................[10% for 2x dmg] Sokyoku.............................................................................[20% for 2x dmg] ((1- .2) * (1 - .1) - 1)...........................................................= .28 (28% chance to 'Crit' per hit) -Since the critical multipliers are same, 'acquired' doesn't matter
Extra: Radiance's burn does not stack with another Radiance either (even if opposing teams have it, maybe)
------------------------------
Q7 - What happens with multiple Orb Effects?*
A7 - Only 1 works at a time (life steal overrides most other Orb Effects)
Details: Warcraft III (WC3) is just set up this way. Generally, people will get Katen and Arrancar's Horn but 'Maim' from Katen will never work like this (It still isnt bad to get both since they are useful). Ranged heroes have a leeway with orbs since Frozen Hollow Mask's 'Frost' becomes a debuffer and works with 'Maim', 'Life Steal', 'Feedback', and 'Chain Lighting' ('Frosts' only when it doesn't proc though).
Extra: Note that 'Bash', 'Crits', and 'Cleave' are not Orbs so they will work normally, maybe
------------------------------
Q8 - What does (base STR/AGI/INT) mean?
A8 - There are 2 types of Stat, Green and White (or Bonus and Original. Idk their proper name if they have one)
Details: White is what you have originally. Green is the extra you gain from methods besides Toming and Leveling. Green is NOT including with skills that call for 'base stats'. Getting more Green 'stat' will not make 'base stats' any stronger. This includes the 5th spell of Zolo, Mihawk, and Yamamoto. This does not include the 5th spell of Nami, Nico, and Yoruichi.
Example: Zolo with Level 1 5th spell at 100 White Strength and 100 Green Strength deals (2000 + base str x 11) > [2000 + 100 x 11 = 3100]
------------------------------
Q9 - How do I calculate my Damage per Second (DPS)?*
A9 - Use this formula: DPS = APS x Dmg x Average Crit Multiplier = Base APS x AS x Dmg x Average Crit Multiplier
Details: The formula is pretty basic: Base APS is the number of attacks you make per seconds while AS increases the number of hits multiplicatively (200% AS makes you attack 2x your normal APS). Every hit you do causes ‘Dmg’ to the target, so APS x Dmg = DPS (when ignoring ‘Crit’). ‘Crit’ will be mentioned in details on the next Question
Example: You have a hero (Base APS = 1.5 | AS = 150% | Dmg = 100 | Average Crit Multipler = 1.2) DPS = 1.5 x 150% x 100 x 1.2 = 270
------------------------------
Q10 - How much does ‘Crit’ items help me?*
A10 - In average, they multiply your DPS by: (P x Multiplier) + (1 - P) where P = Crit Rate (% chance it procs)
Details: Average Crit Multiplier simply means the multiplier your DPS gets in average after many attacks. Average Crit Multiplier = 2 means that every one of your attacks are 2x the normal damage. If you don't understand the math, at least trust the results I give up :P
Example: Suzumebachi (15% for 1.5x) = (15% x 1.5) + (1 - 15%) = .225 + .85 = 1.075x Sokyoku (20% for 2.0x) = (20% x 2.0) + (1 - 20%) = .4 + .8 = 1.2x Ultima Sword (20% for 3.0x) = (20% x 3.0) + (1 - 20%) = .6 + .8 = 1.4x
------------------------------
Q11: Should I get more AS or Damage?*
A11: When +1% AS cost the same as +1 Dmg, get the lesser of the two (keep them equal to one another) for maximum DPS
Details: Use the DPS formula. Simple algebra (or some other math word) indicates that the balance between 'AS' and 'Dmg' does not get affected by 'Base APS'. You can maximize your DPS by allocating points into 'AS' and 'Dmg' equally. With a limited amount of points you can allocate to ‘AS’ or ‘Dmg’, the maximum ‘DPS’ is where ‘AS’ = ‘Dmg’ for some mathematical reason
Example 100% AS x 100 Dmg = 100 DPS > 75 DPS = 150% x 50 Dmg Event A: You have a ‘Str’ Hero (Base APS = 1 | AS = 100% | Dmg = 150) Event A1: If you get 10 ‘Str’ Tomes (for ‘Dmg’), then your hero’s DPS = 160 (100% x 160 x 1) Event A2: If you get 10 ‘Agi’ Tomes (for ‘AS’), then your hero’s DPS = 165 (110% x 1 x 150) Event A2.5: Now, if you somehow transferred 20 ‘Dmg’ to your ‘Agi’ Tomed hero, then AS = 130% | Dmg = 130. New DPS = 169 (130% x 1 x 130)
Event B: You have a ‘Str’ Hero (Base APS = 2 | AS = 100% | Dmg = 150) Event B1: If you get 10 ‘Str’ Tomes (for ‘Dmg’), then your hero’s DPS = 320 (100% x 160 x 2) Event B2: If you get 10 ‘Agi’ Tomes (for ‘AS’), then your hero’s DPS = 330 (110% x 2 x 150) Event B2.5: Now, if you somehow transferred 20 ‘Dmg’ to your ‘Agi’ Tomed hero, then AS = 130% | Dmg = 130. New DPS = 338 (130% x 2 x 130)
------------------------------
QX - What are the acronyms?
AX - This APS = Attacks per Second AS = Attack Speed BvO = Bleach v One Piece CD = Cooldown Proc (not an acronym but just incase) = Triggers off (In Russian Roulette with 1 bullet and 5 blanks, there is a 1/6 chance to proc a kill : P)
I'll add more when I think of it or in response to others. These might not be correct so feel free to comment.

Edit: The colors still hurts my eyes... or something Edit 2: Bah, multiple spaces and tabs don't work on forums. This is the last straw. I QUIT >( I have returned for now :D
Update: Replaced Q8 as QX, added Q8, fixed some typos, currently (not really) working on fixing Q5, added simple formula to Q4 Update 2: Added Q9-Q11 and changed some negligible stuff on other Questions

| lol...I've play bvo for so long and all i knew from this was the orb effects....amazing thread I have a question....how do you check default APS? Does it involve World Editor? and how can Rukia is the slowest APS if she's an AGI character? Doesn't AGI help chars attack faster? Then if it is, then isn't Yoruichi the fastest one? I find Kuma and Orihimeway slower than rukia, lol. (Mihawk seems to be slower too, also Croc) ps: the question about AGI is kinda dumb but what i think about is STR= hp+ power (damage), AGI=speed and armor, and INT=mana pss: lmao on the poll...won't vote until you have the 恐ろしいin it

| Quote (Dark_Vizard) how do you check default APS? Does it involve World Editor? As far as I know, there are 3 methods
1. Deprotect and check the map for each character's data under Stat- Attack 1 Cooldown, or something like this (I don't use much programs so I'm not very familiar with Deprotecting)
2. Time your number of hits at max AS. Count your hits after X seconds and divide by X and divide by 5 again (since max AS makes you attack 5x the hero's default AS) This is the most boring and least accurate method though.
Example: Rukia attacks / Elapse time / 5 = 3,289 / 1,000 seconds / 5 = 0.658 ASP at 0% AS
3. When a unit's APS is greater than 1, its AS is 'very fast'. Therefore, tome a hero until it just reaches 'very fast'. At that point, minus 1 agility from the hero. This gives you the AS at where the hero reaches 1 APS. Use the equation from Q4 (Default APS * AS = Current APS) with 'Current APS' = 1 and 'AS' = Heroes' current Agi - 1 + 100 in % form (AS starts off with 100% so don't forget to factor that in) New equation: Default APS * (Agi + 99)% = 1
Example: Rukia becomes 'very fast' with 52 Agi. Plug that into the equation Input numbers................................[Default APS * (53 + 99)% = 1] Simplify..........................................[Default APS * 152% = 1] Convert & to decimal.......................[Default APS * 1.52 = 1] (Insert mathematical term for this)...[Default APS = 1 / 1.52] Simplify..........................................[Default APS = 0.658] Therefore, without additional AS, Rukia attacks less than once per second (At 1 every 1.52 seconds)
I lack the ability to clearly explain things. This explaination might confuse people more than it helps :/
Quote (Dark_Vizard) ps: the question about AGI is kinda dumb Quote (Dark_Vizard) how can Rukia have the slowest APS if she's an AGI character? Doesn't AGI help chars attack faster? Then if it is, then isn't Yoruichi the fastest one? There it is :D. This was the combination of reason I put Q3 into the FAQ (No offense to anyone who thought the same as Dark did) Most people assumes that higher agility means you have higher attack speed. This isn't fully true though. People understand what Agility does, but not everyone knows how to apply it. Your attribute does not affect your attack speed at all. Agility make your hero attack faster, but merely affects your predetermined APS. As fore mentioned, each hero might have different APS and AS from Agility merely increases your APS by a fixed %. At 500% (Remember: You start off with 100%) AS, everyone is at their max AS which is 5x faster than their normal APS. So, a 400 Agility Rukia is still slower than a 399 Agility Ichigo due to their default APS and Attribute doesn't matter.
Quote (Dark_Vizard) I find Kuma and Orihime way slower than rukia, lol. (Mihawk seems to be slower too, also Croc) This part is only true since their Agility is typically lower than Rukia. Their Agility gain level is low and their items typically is less AS orientated People rarely tome Agility with Non-Agility heroes so that is why many people believe being Agility defaults you as a faster character. This is only true until everyone hits their max AS. You are right in one sense though, those 4 heroes mentioned are among the slowest heroes even when everyone has max AS
Note: Whenever I mentioned just APS, it means default APS with 0 AS (This means 0 agility and no items to influence) Attribute refers to Strength, Agility, Intelligence Also, I think my explanation got repetitive and confusing, as always -------- Added: I have the list for each heroes' default APS and max APS. If you want this, you have to beat me in a 1v1 BvO match D: (-bhnsnw maybe)

| Yeah, I was debating whether 'Fh' is over kill (in terms of creeps) and that was the point of this 1v1 :D
Quote (Dark_Vizard) I'll vs you in a Yama vs Orihime match /O.o\ I accept your challenge. Me as Yama, you as Orihime And this can be your Grunt test if you want, assuming that I can give them and have Admin on Gamersedge 0.o
